A great opportunity for a Private Client Tax Senior to join an established public accounting firm in London, working as part of a growing Private Client team.
This role would suit someone who already has a solid grounding in UK personal tax and is looking for the next step in their career, with the opportunity to build on their technical experience and become more involved in advisory work.
You’ll work with a varied portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, trusts and privately owned businesses, giving you exposure to a broad range of personal tax matters.
The Role*Manage your own portfolio of private clients with support from the wider team
*Prepare and review Self Assessment and other personal tax returns
*Deal with a range of Income Tax, CGT, IHT and Trust matters
*Assist with tax planning and advisory work for HNW and UHNW clients
*Communicate directly with clients and build strong working relationships
*Work alongside Managers, Directors and Partners on more complex tax matters
*Take responsibility for meeting deadlines and managing your own workload
*Review work where appropriate and provide support to more junior members of the team
*Get involved in ad-hoc tax projects and wider Private Client assignments
The Client BaseYou’ll work with a varied portfolio, which could include:
*High-net-worth individuals
*Entrepreneurs and business owners
*Family groups
*Trusts and estates
*Partnerships and LLPs
*Property and investment clients
The variety means there is plenty of opportunity to develop your experience rather than being focused solely on annual compliance work.
Advisory ExposureOne of the key attractions of the role is the opportunity to develop your advisory experience alongside compliance.
Depending on your experience, you could become involved in areas such as:
*Capital Gains Tax planning
*Inheritance Tax
*Trust taxation
*Tax-efficient remuneration
*Succession planning
*Property-related tax matters
*General personal tax planning
You’ll have access to more senior members of the team and the opportunity to learn from professionals with significant Private Client experience.
What We’re Looking For*ACA, CTA, ATT or equivalent qualification/study towards a relevant qualification
*Strong UK personal tax experience within an accounting or professional services firm
*Experience managing or assisting with a portfolio of personal tax clients
*Good technical understanding of UK personal tax
*Exposure to HNW individuals, trusts or complex tax matters would be beneficial
*Comfortable communicating with clients
*Organised and able to manage your own workload
*Keen to develop technically and progress within Private Client Tax
