CNN Digital is seeking an Photo Editor to help shape visual storytelling across platforms for breaking news, enterprise and feature stories. This role involves sourcing and vetting compelling photography under tight deadlines and collaborating with colleagues across the newsroom todriveengagementwhileupholdingthehigheststandardsofjournalisticintegrity.Thesuccessfulcandidatewillthriveinafast-pacedbreakingnewsenvironmentandplayakeyroleindeliveringimpactfulvisualjournalismacrossinternationalcoverage.ApplytojoinCNNDigitalandhelpbringimportantstoriestolifethroughcompellingvisualstorytelling. Please note: The shift pattern for this role will include regular weekends.
YourRoleAccountabilities
* CoordinatephotocoverageforEurope,theMiddleEastandAfricaandworkcloselywiththeCNNDigitalInternationalteaminLondon.

* Researchandproducedailyandlong-termprojectsinsupportofallCNNDigital.

* SelectthebestimagesforCNNstories,thehomepageandlivecoverageofbreakingnewsandevents.

* Researchandproducephotoessaysandgalleriesforbreakingnewsandfeaturestories.

* Writecaptionsandheadlinesforphotoessaysandgalleriesandproducepackagesforonlineconsumption.

* Producephotoloops,photosplitsandscreengrabsfromlivesatellitefeeds.

* Actasqualitycontrolongraphicorpotentiallysensitiveimages,conductthoroughvettingofthird-partycontentandcollaboratewithCNN’sRightsandClearancesteamtoensureappropriatelicensing.Flexibilitytoworkweekendsisrequired.

Qualifications&Experience
* Demonstrablephotoeditingexperienceinanewsroom.

* Strongnewsbackgroundwithanunderstandingofpolitics,business,internationalnews,entertainmentandsports.

* Strongnewsjudgementwiththeabilitytoworkeffectivelyinafast-pacednewsenvironment.

* Experiencewithcontentmanagementsystems,AdobePhotoshopandPhotoMechanic.
KnowledgeofAPstyleandaninterestinthephotojournalismindustryanditstrends.ExperiencewithAdobePremiere,Illustrator,SEO,webanalytics,digitalnewsplatforms,photoagenciesand
