Our client is an organisation in the Financial Services industry located in Derby. The role has come about due to exciting development within the organisation, and an ambition to continue building and growing the procurement team, creating an interim need for a Category manager. This role would require you to be in the Derby office 3 days a week.
Description
As Interim Category Manager, duties will include:
*Develop and implement category strategies to meet procurement goals.
*Manage supplier relationships, ensuring quality and value for the organisation.
*Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain.
*Monitor market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
*Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align category strategies with business needs.
*Conduct supplier performance evaluations and negotiate contracts.
*Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
*Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and outcomes.
*Work within a regulated environment.
Profile
A successful Interim Category Manager should have:
*Experience working in a small/greenfield procurement team.
*Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
*Tendering and sourcing experience.
*Category management expertise, particularly within IT.
*Focus on delivering the right commercial solution rather than simply achieving savings.
*Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
*Experience in smaller environments may be more relevant than large corporate environments.
Job Offer
*Daily rate between £400 and £450, dependent on the level of experience.
*Temporary contract in the Financial Services industry.
*Hybrid working, based in the Derby office.
