A supportive SEN school in Reading is looking for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Psychology graduate who is considering a career in education, educational psychology, mental health or specialist support.
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, learning difficulties and communication challenges. You will provide individualised support and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
* Supporting students with their learning and development
* Applying knowledge of psychology and child development in a practical setting
* Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
* Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Working alongside Teachers and experienced SEN staff
* Creating a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment
* ASAP start in Reading with accessible transport links
The school is looking for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, patient and passionate about supporting young people. Previous experience working with children, SEN, mental health, care or youth services would be beneficial, but strong graduates with relevant transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
