An experienced Payroll Officer is required to manage the monthly payroll for approximately 240 employees while supporting a significant payroll systems improvement programme.
Based in Tattenhall, Cheshire, this varied role will involve processing monthly payroll, hourly pay, overtime and variable payments. You will manage paper timesheets and payroll spreadsheets, support average holiday pay calculations and answer payroll queries from employees and managers.
You will work closely with an external payroll bureau while helping to improve and modernise existing payroll processes. You will also support employees and managers as they adopt new systems, providing practical training and guidance where required.
As the position develops, you will take on additional responsibilities within HR or finance. The successful candidate will therefore need to be flexible, adaptable and comfortable learning new processes and supporting different areas of the organisation.
You should have previous payroll experience, strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail. You will also be a clear and confident communicator who can support colleagues through systems and process changes.
