We are working with a leading professional services firm that is looking to appoint a Pensions Audit Manager to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional with a strong background in pension scheme audit to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients. The role will involve managing audits from planning through to completion, acting as a key point of contact for clients and supporting the development of a team of audit professionals.
You will work with a range of pension scheme clients, providing high-quality audit and assurance services while also contributing to wider pensions and risk management projects. The role offers the opportunity to develop strong client relationships, take ownership of engagements and play an important role in the continued development of the wider pensions audit team.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage a portfolio of pension scheme audit clients, working closely with senior members of the team.
*Take responsibility for statutory pension scheme audits from planning through to completion.
*Plan, manage and deliver audit engagements in line with agreed budgets, timescales and professional standards.
*Prepare and review audit planning documentation, reports and findings.
*Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong and effective working relationships.
*Review audit work completed by junior members of the team and provide constructive feedback.
*Manage and support audit teams, helping to develop technical knowledge and professional skills.
*Ensure audit work is delivered accurately, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
*Identify potential issues and provide insightful recommendations to clients where appropriate.
*Develop an understanding of clients’ wider needs and identify opportunities to provide additional value.
*Support and contribute to wider pensions assurance, risk management and advisory projects.
*Work closely with senior colleagues and partners to ensure audit objectives and quality standards are met.
*Contribute to the ongoing improvement of audit processes and ways of working.
Skills, Experience & Qualities Required:
*Professional qualification such as ACA, CA or ACCA.
*Strong audit experience, ideally with specific experience of pension scheme audits.
*Good understanding of pension scheme financial statements and the pensions SORP.
*Good knowledge of the UK pensions industry, including relevant legislation and regulations.
*Experience managing audit engagements from planning through to completion.
*Experience reviewing the work of others and providing constructive feedback.
*Previous experience managing, mentoring or developing junior team members.
*Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
*Ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities effectively.
*Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients.
*Strong organisational skills and the ability to deliver work within agreed budgets and deadlines.
*A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to take ownership of client engagements.
