IntroductionAcorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a growing consultancy for a Civil Design Technician to join their team in Swindon.

This role would suit a graduate or early-career civil engineering professional looking to build technical expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience across infrastructure design projects, working alongside engineers and project teams to help deliver practical solutions for development schemes.

Key Duties*Assist with the preparation of detailed infrastructure and civil engineering designs.
*Produce technical drawings and design information using CAD software.
*Support the delivery of highways, drainage and development infrastructure projects.
*Work with engineers, clients and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
*Attend project meetings and site visits to develop technical understanding and industry knowledge.
*Assist with the preparation of technical reports and supporting project documentation.
RequirementsEssential:
*Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
*Previous exposure to civil engineering or infrastructure projects through employment, placements or internships.
*Experience using AutoCAD 2D, with 3D advantageous but not essential.
*Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
*Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
*Enthusiastic approach to learning and professional development.
Desirable:
*Knowledge of highway and drainage design principles.
*Experience using Civil 3D, Site 3D, PDS, InfoDrainage or similar software.
*Understanding of UK infrastructure design standards and guidance, i.e. Manual for Streets and Sewers for Adoption.
*Previous consultancy or development-sector experience.
*Full UK driving licence.
