Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing?
A Secondary SEN School in Reading is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Mental Health Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors, Therapists, or Mental Health Professionals.
As a Mental Health Assistant, you will:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support to students experiencing emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges.
*Support students in developing emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies.
*Build trusting and supportive relationships with students, helping them feel safe, understood, and valued.
*Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
We’re looking for a Mental Health Assistant who is:
*Compassionate, patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.
*A confident communicator who can build strong, positive relationships with students.
*Interested in gaining practical experience before pursuing a career in psychology, mental health, therapy, or education.
*Calm, resilient, and able to respond appropriately to challenging situations.

*Pay: £93-£110 per day
*Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
*Contract: Full-time
