*Location: Loughton
*Job Type: Part-time, Temporary, approximately 4-5 half days per week (exact timings to be confirmed).
*Start Date: Immediately
We are looking for an Assistant Librarian to join our team at a faith school in Loughton, primarily covering our sixth form library. This role is perfect for individuals who are comfortable in a child-facing environment and can effectively supervise and interact with older students.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Supervise the sixth form library, ensuring a conducive environment for study and learning.
*Assist students in checking out and returning books and other materials.
*Engage with sixth form students, providing assistance and support as needed.
*Maintain and organize library resources to ensure easy access for all students.
*Handle library inquiries and provide information about library policies and procedures.
*Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the library’s role in the educational process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in a library setting is advantageous but not essential.
*Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students.
*Ability to manage and supervise a student-centered environment.
*Comfortable working with teenagers and young adults.
*Proactive, friendly, and approachable demeanour.
*Enhanced DBS check on the update service (ESSENTIAL)
