Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnering with a successful and well-established business in the construction and infrastructure sector to recruit an experienced Accounts Manager.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable business in a standalone finance role, offering flexibility, autonomy and the chance to take ownership of the finance function. Working closely with the Directors, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day and long-term financial operations of the business.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the company’s finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing all bookkeeping and accounting activities using Sage
*Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
*Processing supplier invoices and payment runs
*Managing online banking and bank reconciliations
*Credit control and cashflow reporting
*Preparing and submitting VAT returns
*Processing payroll and pensions
*Producing monthly management accounts
*Preparing year-end accounts to trial balance
*Liaising with external accountants and supporting audits
*Ensuring HMRC and statutory compliance requirements are met
About You
We’re looking for an experienced finance professional with:
*Strong Sage experience (essential)
*Experience managing a full finance function within an SME
*Payroll, VAT and HMRC compliance experience
*Experience preparing management accounts and year-end accounts
*Strong reconciliation and cashflow management skills
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*The ability to work independently and take ownership of the role
