Job Title: Qualified Dispensing Optician
Location: Bolton town centre, with occasional support across nearby practices
Salary: £30,000–£33,500 depending on experience

Are you a Qualified Dispensing Optician looking for a busy, successful practice where you can develop professionally and genuinely feel part of the business?
Insightful Recruitment is working with a well-established optical group in Bolton that is looking for a personable and commercially aware Qualified Dispensing Optician to join its growing team.
The greatest requirement is within its busy Bolton town centre practice, although the successful candidate may occasionally support two nearby practices. Your primary location will be agreed based on your experience, personality and the environment in which you are likely to perform at your best.
The practice
This is a busy and successful optical practice carrying out approximately 600–700 eye examinations each week, including enhanced optical services.
The practice operates around six to seven Optometrist clinics each day and has an established team of more than 50 employees, with approximately 11–13 colleagues working across the shop floor during busy periods.
The directors are hands-on, accessible and committed to creating a supportive, family-oriented working environment where employees are treated as individuals.
The role
As a Qualified Dispensing Optician, you will:
*Provide professional and patient-focused dispensing advice.
*Dispense across a wide range of prescriptions and lens options.
*Recommend suitable products based on each patient’s prescription, lifestyle and individual needs.
*Explain lens designs, coatings and additional options clearly and confidently.
*Support patients throughout their journey and deliver an excellent standard of customer care.
*Contribute to the practice’s commercial performance while maintaining an ethical approach to dispensing.
*Work collaboratively with Optometrists, Optical Assistants and the wider management team.
*Support the development of less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
*Occasionally provide support within another nearby practice when required.
Working pattern
*Full-time hours are available.
*A four-day working week can be considered.
*A pattern of four days one week and five days the following week may also be considered.
*Weekend availability is essential.
Salary and benefits
*Salary of approximately £30,000–£33,500 depending on experience.

*Be a fully qualified and GOC-registered Dispensing Optician.

*Combine excellent patient care with good commercial awareness.
*Be comfortable working as part of a large and established team.
*Be flexible regarding weekend working and occasional support across nearby practices.
*Bring a positive, professional and team-focused attitude.
