Job Description:
Full job descriptionPayroll Specialist - up to £40k plus competitive benefits and hybrid working.
Campbell Grove Talent are working with a business on the outskirts of Boroughbridge who are continuing to grow and now looking looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their great finance team.
This isn’t a role where you’ll simply sit and process payroll.
Our client is looking for someone hands-on, who enjoys taking ownership, spotting where things could work better and being involved across the wider finance and people function.
You’ll have plenty of variety, including:
*Taking ownership of the payroll function and making sure everything runs smoothly
*Being the person everyone goes to when they have a payroll question
*Working closely with Finance, People and Operations to resolve issues and improve processes
*Keeping employee records and payroll data accurate and up to date
*Supporting month-end with payroll-related reporting, journals and reconciliations
*Producing payroll analysis and information for the wider business
*Monitoring payroll costs and highlighting anything that doesn’t look quite right
*Supporting pension administration and employee benefit processes
*Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and making sure these are reflected in the business
*Working with HMRC, pension providers and other external contacts
*Helping to improve systems, processes and reporting as the business continues to grow
*Getting involved in projects and other finance/people initiatives as they arise
*Providing wider support to the finance team during busy periods
Who we are looking for:
Someone who really knows payroll, but also wants more than a processing role.
You’ll be organised, commercially aware and confident dealing with people at all levels. You’ll spot a problem and get involved in fixing it rather than waiting for someone else to do it.
Experience with Sage would be useful, and a CIPP qualification would be a bonus, but we’re more interested in finding someone who is capable, practical and enjoys being part of a growing business.
If that sounds like your kind of next move, please reach out to Emma Dugdale or Lucy Regan.
