Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe’re recruiting for an HR Advisor to join a growing business in Birmingham. This is a varied, hands-on role combining generalist HR responsibilities with a strong focus on recruitment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of vacancies from initial brief through to sourcing, screening, interviews, offers and onboarding, while also providing day-to-day HR and employee relations support.
About the Candidate
We’re looking for someone with a solid generalist HR background and, importantly, strong hands-on recruitment experience. You’ll be confident managing vacancies independently, proactively sourcing candidates and working closely with hiring managers to deliver the right results.
You’ll also be comfortable supporting employee relations and wider HR matters, with strong communication and organisational skills and a good understanding of UK employment legislation. A CIPD qualification, or working towards one, would be an advantage.
Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Birmingham (Office-Based)
What You’ll Do *Own the end-to-end recruitment process, from vacancy brief and advertising through to offer and onboarding.
*Proactively source candidates using job boards, CV databases and other recruitment channels.
*Screen applications, conduct initial interviews and create strong candidate shortlists.
*Partner with hiring managers to understand requirements and coordinate the interview and selection process.
*Prepare offers, contracts and onboarding documentation and complete pre-employment checks.
*Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees.
*Support employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes.
*Support probation reviews and wider employee lifecycle administration.
*Maintain accurate HR and recruitment records and support HR reporting and payroll administration.
*Contribute to HR projects, policy updates and employee engagement initiatives.
Benefits *Performance-related bonus
*25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
*Option to purchase up to 5 additional days of annual leave
*On-site gym
*Health and wellbeing programme
*Employee discount scheme
*Ongoing learning and development opportunities
