Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week


Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading organisation on a 6-month contract based in Leek. This is a day-based role supporting maintenance activities within a highly regulated industrial environment.


Key Responsibilities
*Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on plant equipment
*Perform pipefitting and mechanical maintenance tasks
*Conduct basic electrical fault-finding and diagnostics
*Undertake function testing and signal checking
*Execute flange repairs and maintenance
*Isolate and maintain pumps and agitators safely
*Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety and compliance standards
*Support continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives


Required Experience & Skills
*Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial environment
*Strong background in pipework, pumps, vessels, and flanges
*Basic electrical fault-finding capability
*Experience with equipment isolation procedures (LOTO)
*Hands-on experience within one or more of the following industries:
*Chemical / Petrochemical
*Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
*FMCG / Manufacturing
*Oil & Gas / Refinery
*Power Generation / Waste-to-Energy / Steel


Candidate Profile
*Strong practical, hands-on engineering skills
*Able to work independently and as part of a team
*Good understanding of health & safety procedures
*Flexible and adaptable to site requirements

*Immediate availability or short notice preferred
*Local candidates or those willing to commute to Leek are highly desirable
