Salary: £18 – £21 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Working pattern: Full-time, permanent — 40 hours (Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2pm)
About the role
Pact Engineering is a long-established, family-owned precision engineering company producing high-quality, complex components for the motorsport, food production and wider manufacturing sectors. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled Quality Inspector to help maintain the standards our customers rely on.
This suits an experienced inspector, or a competent engineer ready to step into a dedicated quality role, who wants to develop within a well-run machine shop.
What you’ll be doing
*Inspecting precision components and finished products against specification
*Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
*Using precision measurement equipment including micrometers, gauges and CMM
*Identifying and reporting non-conforming components
*Producing detailed inspection reports and quality documentation
*Identifying defects, supporting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
*Working with production teams to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects
*Supporting the development and maintenance of quality procedures and ISO9001 standards
What you’ll bring
*Experience in quality inspection within a precision engineering environment
*Experience programming and operating Aberlink Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T
*Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001
*Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
