Full job descriptionAn exceptional opportunity has arisen for a strategic finance leader to join a successful and values-driven organisation at a pivotal stage in its development.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping organisational strategy, driving financial sustainability and supporting long-term growth. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Board and senior leaders, you will provide strategic financial leadership, insightful analysis and constructive challenge to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
This is a broad and influential role that combines strategic financial leadership with strong governance, commercial oversight and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Leading the development and delivery of the organisation’s financial strategy.
*Acting as a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive, Board and Executive Leadership Team.
*Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting.
*Ensuring robust financial controls, governance arrangements and risk management frameworks are in place.
*Providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
*Leading and developing a high-performing finance function.
*Supporting major investment decisions, organisational change initiatives and growth opportunities.
*Overseeing audit processes and maintaining effective relationships with external advisers.
*Driving continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting and processes.
*Providing strategic oversight of procurement, contracts and significant expenditure programmes.
*Ensuring the organisation maintains strong financial resilience and long-term sustainability.
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with a proven track record of operating at a senior leadership level within a complex organisation.
You will bring:
*Significant experience developing and delivering financial strategy.
*Experience advising executive leaders, boards and senior stakeholders.
*Strong expertise in financial planning, governance, financial control and risk management.
*Excellent commercial and strategic acumen.
*The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight.
*Strong leadership skills and experience developing high-performing teams.
*Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
*Experience supporting organisational change, transformation and growth.
