Salary: £18 – £21 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Working pattern: Full-time, permanent — 40 hours (Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2pm)
About the role
Pact Engineering is a long-established, family-owned precision engineering company with a strong reputation for producing high-quality, complex components for the motorsport, food production and wider manufacturing sectors. As our order book continues to grow, we’re looking for a skilled CNC Miller to help us deliver the standards our customers expect.
This suits an experienced CNC Miller, or a capable machinist ready to develop further, who wants to join a stable and well-run machine shop.
What you’ll be doing
*Programming, setting and operating 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines
*Producing high-quality components to tight tolerances
*Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
*Using modern inspection equipment to verify part quality
*Working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
*Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining our quality standards
What you’ll bring
*Experience programming, setting or operating 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines
*Competent CNC programming on HEIDENHAIN controls, or a willingness to train
*Strong ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
*Understanding of the standards required to produce a high-quality finish
*Confidence using modern inspection tools and equipment
*Able to work with minimal supervision and use your initiative
*Fork-lift truck experience or certification is an advantage, but not essential
