We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist secondary school in Surrey for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing and supportive SEN environment, teaching students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated learning difficulties. The school is committed to providing personalised learning experiences that enable every student to achieve their potential both academically and personally.
The Role
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire students to develop their literacy, communication and analytical skills while fostering confidence and a love of learning.
Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in supporting students to overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons up to GCSE level.
*Differentiate learning to meet individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
*Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
*Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
*Support pupils’ wider personal, social and emotional development.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
*Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
*Has experience teaching English up to KS4.
*Has experience working within SEN settings or a strong interest in specialist education.
*Demonstrates excellent communication and classroom management skills.
*Is resilient, adaptable and committed to achieving the best outcomes for young people.
*Has a genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
