Full job descriptionJob Description – Junior UK AccountantAccountancy 4 You Ltd is an established and growing accountancy practice based in Manchester. We work with a varied portfolio of UK businesses and pride ourselves on providing a personal, professional and approachable service to our clients.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Junior UK Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some experience within a UK accountancy practice and is confident working independently and managing their own portfolio of clients.
Main responsibilities:
*Preparing Year End Accounts for UK Limited Companies
*Preparing Corporation Tax computations and CT600 returns
*Preparing and reviewing VAT Returns
*Preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns
*Reviewing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
*Dealing with HMRC and Companies House
*Working with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems
*Managing deadlines and your own portfolio of clients
*Communicating directly with clients and providing day-to-day accounting support
*Supporting and reviewing work completed by junior members of the team
*Assisting with general tax and accounting queries
Experience and skills required:
*Minimum 1–3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
*Strong knowledge of UK accounting and taxation
*Experience preparing Limited Company accounts and Corporation Tax Returns
*Good knowledge of VAT and Self Assessment
*Experience using Xero
*Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
*Strong communication and client-facing skills
*Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
*ACCA/ACA/AAT qualified or part-qualified would be an advantage, although we are happy to consider candidates qualified by experience (QBE)
