Job Description:
Full job descriptionNewstaff Employment is recruiting for a multi-skilled Service Engineer to carry out maintenance, reactive callouts and small works on fire alarm, emergency lighting, CCTV, intruder alarm and access control systems.
*The role will involve diagnosing faults, liaising closely with the service team to ensure sufficient scheduling and completion of works.
*Complete accurate reporting including service reports.
*Complying with health and safety legislation, company policies and safe working conditions.
*Participate in the out-of-hours standby and call-out rota.
*Maintain the company vehicle.
*All other tasks as required.
Requirements
*Proven experience servicing and maintaining both Fire Alarm and Security systems.
*Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm systems and BS 5839.
*Fire Industry Association (FIA) qualifications or equivalent.
*Experience maintaining Emergency Lighting systems.
*An electrical background.
*Knowledge of integrated security systems (desirable).
*Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
*Strong communication and customer service skills.
*The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
*Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
*A full UK driving licence.
*ECS, CSCS and/or IPAF certification (preferred).
*A flexible approach with willingness to travel nationally and undertake occasional overnight stays.
Qualifications & Experience
*Minimum of five years’ experience within the Fire & Security industry (preferred).
*Experience servicing and maintaining Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems.
*Electrical qualifications or relevant industry experience.
*Fire Extinguisher training (desirable).
Working Hours:
*Monday to Friday
*8.30am - 5.30pm
*Overtime opportunities available
*Participation in on-call rota
Work Location: Field Based/On the road, Hertfordshire, Home counties, North London areas.
