We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fixed Asset Accountant who will be responsible for keeping our fixed asset records accurate and up to date. The successful Fixed Asset Accountant will manage the fixed asset register. Ensure the related ledger accounts are in good shape and take care of accounting for property sales.
Fixed Asset Accountant - Duties and Responsibilities:
*Manage the accounting and financial reporting of property sales transactions
*Perform monthly reconciliations between the fixed asset register and the general ledger
*Ensure all fixed asset additions and disposals are accurately recorded in a timely manner
*Account for the capitalisation of major works programmes and ensure replaced components are appropriately written off
*Oversee the capitalisation of intangible assets and provide guidance on the correct accounting treatment
*Support the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of depreciation and capitalised interest budgets
*Monitor forecasts and produce regular financial updates for designated areas of responsibility
Skills and abilities:
*Proven experience in fixed asset accounting, ideally within the social housing sector
*Strong understanding of Housing SORP, FRS 102, and accounting standards relating to housing fixed assets
*Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines effectively
*Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, or CIMA professional
