We are recruiting 2 Senior Support Workers to join an established 8-bed residential mental health service in the St Austell area of Cornwall.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Support Worker who is ready to take on additional responsibility, develop their leadership skills and progress their career within mental health and social care.
The RoleAs a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role within the day-to-day running of the service, providing high-quality person-centred support while helping to guide and support the wider team.
You will work closely with residents, colleagues and other professionals to ensure individuals receive consistent, safe and compassionate support.
Key Responsibilities*Providing high-quality, person-centred mental health support
*Supporting residents with daily living, independence and wellbeing
*Taking a lead role during shifts
*Supporting and mentoring Support Workers
*Ensuring care and support plans are followed
*Completing accurate daily records and handovers
*Supporting the smooth running of the service
*Promoting dignity, choice and independence
*Communicating effectively with colleagues and external professionals
*Responding appropriately to changes in residents’ needs
*Helping maintain a safe, positive and supportive environment
Hours & Pay£14.00 per hour
*2 Senior Support Worker positions available
*Full-time
*40+ hours per week
*Waking night shifts available
*Sleep-in shifts available
*Permanent opportunities
*Starting October 2026
Who We’re Looking ForWe are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience as a:
Senior Support Worker | Senior Care Worker | Mental Health Support Worker | Support Worker | Residential Support Worker | Healthcare Worker | Healthcare Assistant
Previous experience within mental health, residential care, supported living, learning disabilities or complex needs would be highly desirable.
