NuStaff are recruiting on behalf of a national policing body for a Development Specialist to join the Organised Immigration Crime (OIC) Domestic Taskforce. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in public sector safeguarding or crime investigation to contribute to a high-profile national programme tackling Organised Immigration Crime across England & Wales.
This is a fully home-based role, offering genuine flexibility, though occasional travel across the UK will be required to attend meetings, workshops, and briefings, and to work closely with regional and national partners.
About the RoleWorking as part of a team delivering priorities set by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and the Home Office, you will support and develop the operational activity that helps police forces across England & Wales tackle Organised Immigration Crime. You’ll work closely with statutory agencies and NGOs to identify and share good practice, helping to shape and improve the national policing response.
This is a fixed-term national role (funded to run until March 2027), offering the chance to build genuine expertise and influence at a national level.
Key Responsibilities*Support the development of operational activity, guidance, and training in relation to Organised Immigration Crime
*Build and maintain effective working relationships with statutory agencies, NGOs, and partners across the public and private sector, and academia
*Chair, manage, and participate in meetings and Task & Finish groups
*Help ensure victims of Organised Immigration Crime are safeguarded rather than criminalised, working closely with front-line officers and senior leaders
*Work with Regional Coordinators to strengthen approaches and share good practice across all UK police forces
*Produce clear, concise reports and briefings
*Mentor and support colleagues, including the informal training of new team members
*Travel across the UK when required for meetings, briefings, and partner engagement
What We’re Looking For*Degree or equivalent experience in public sector safeguarding or the investigation of crime (through policing or partner agencies)
*Proven ability to engage and work effectively with a wide range of partners to deliver preventative and problem-solving activity
*Experience chairing and participating in meetings and working groups
*An understanding of the wider law enforcement approach to Organised Immigration Crime, and how policing engages with partner agencies including Border Force and Immigration Enforcement
*A track record of identifying, developing, and promoting good practice
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Demonstrable ability to mentor and support others
*Ability to work flexibly and effectively within a regional/national context


Pay: £19.78 per hour (PAYE) / £26.02 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Home-based with occasional travel required
