Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Duration: Up to 12 weeks initially
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm (30-minute lunch break)

About the Role
We are seeking a professional, organised, and resilient Temporary Administrator to provide vital support within the main office of a welcoming Alternative Provision in Wickford.
This varied front-of-house role will be central to the smooth day-to-day running of the school, combining reception responsibilities, administrative support, and positive engagement with both staff and students. You will often be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and pupils, helping to create a calm, friendly, and supportive environment from the moment students arrive each morning.
The provision supports approximately 90 students, including children with additional needs and challenging behaviours. As such, the successful candidate will be confident, patient, and able to remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing front-of-house reception duties
*Welcoming students, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
*Supporting students during morning arrival routines
*Answering and directing incoming telephone calls and emails
*Updating timetables and maintaining accurate records
*Providing general administrative support to the school team
*Assisting with the day-to-day operational needs of the provision
*Maintaining a calm, organised, and professional office environment
Requirements
*Strong IT and administrative skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
*Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach to work
*Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging behaviour
*Enhanced DBS on the Child Workforce (or willingness to obtain one)
*Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential
