With a global presence across the UK, South Africa, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Vietnam, the organisation offers an exciting and collaborative environment where its people are central to continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR or People professional to take on a varied role supporting managers, employees, and wider strategic People initiatives across the organisation.
The role can be based in Sheffield or Christchurch, with travel to regional offices in Sheffield and Widnes/Christchurch on a bi-weekly basis.
Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position, your duties may include but are not limited to:
*Supporting the People Business Partner and wider People team with the delivery of strategic HR and People initiatives.
*Managing and supporting employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations, and workplace conflicts.
*Providing day-to-day guidance to managers on performance management and supporting performance improvement plans.
*Supporting absence management processes and helping managers address attendance and performance concerns.
*Ensuring employee relations processes are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with company policies and employment legislation.
*Supporting recruitment and selection processes, including interviewing candidates and assessing cultural fit.
*Working with managers to understand current and future recruitment and skills requirements across the business.
*Supporting the identification of training and development needs across the organisation.
*Organising training sessions, maintaining training records, and liaising with internal and external training providers.
*Supporting the review and development of HR policies and procedures to ensure they remain compliant and aligned with best practice.
*Providing guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including employment law, equal opportunities, and diversity.
*Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
*Producing HR reports and supporting the wider People team with HR analytics and reporting.
*Supporting payroll system inputs and pension reporting.
*Assisting with the administration of employee benefits, holiday records, pensions, and other employee entitlements.
*Supporting onboarding and induction processes to ensure new employees have a positive introduction to the business.
*Supporting employees throughout the wider employee lifecycle, from recruitment through probation and ongoing development.
*Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and recommending practical solutions.
*Supporting employee engagement initiatives and working with the Social Committee on company events and activities.
*Assisting with wider People & Culture projects, administration, and ongoing Head Office initiatives.
What You Will Need to Apply:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have previous experience within a People, HR, or People & Culture Assistant or Advisor role. A CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
You will have a good understanding of employment law, HR best practice, employee relations, and performance management, with the confidence to provide appropriate guidance to managers and employees.
Experience handling employee relations matters such as disciplinary processes, grievances, investigations, absence management, and performance improvement would be particularly beneficial.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders at different levels of the organisation. You should be approachable and professional, with the confidence to deal with sensitive and sometimes challenging employee matters appropriately.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, as you will be responsible for managing multiple priorities across recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, reporting, payroll, training, and wider People projects.
You will be proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider People team. The ability to manage competing deadlines and remain organised within a fast-paced environment will be important.
Experience using HR systems, particularly CezanneHR, would be advantageous, alongside good general IT skills and confidence working with HR data and reports.
What You Will Get in Return:
In return for your skills and experience, the company is offering a salary of up to £40,000 with annual salary reviews, alongside a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to develop your career within a growing international organisation.
You will receive 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 27 days after three years’ service and 30 days after five years, alongside an extensive benefits programme including the option to purchase additional holiday, a medical cash plan, mental health support, and a range of other employee benefits.
The company also offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home, providing flexibility around your working arrangements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR or People professional looking to take the next step in their career within a varied and commercially focused People function. You will gain exposure to employee relations, recruitment, performance management, HR compliance, employee development, payroll, benefits, and wider People projects.
If you are proactive, commercially minded, and passionate about supporting people while helping a business achieve its goals, this could be an excellent opportunity for your next career move.
