We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Functional Skills English Lecturer to join our supportive and forward-thinking college near Cambridge on a part-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to help learners develop the essential English skills they need to progress into further education, apprenticeships, and employment. You will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to a diverse range of students, supporting them to achieve recognised Functional Skills English qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills English lessons up to Level 2.
· Assess, monitor, and track learner progress effectively.
· Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds.
· Provide constructive feedback and support to help learners achieve their goals.
· Maintain accurate records, registers, and assessment documentation.
· Contribute to the development of teaching resources and curriculum delivery.
· Promote high levels of attendance, engagement, and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
· A degree or relevant qualification in English or a related subject.
· Experience delivering Functional Skills English or GCSE English.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· A passion for supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
· An understanding of safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
