Full job descriptionOur client, based in Basildon is looking for a Contracts Logistics Operator to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate for this role will have superb communication and people skills, have previous warehouse experience and be IT literate with a strong eye for detail. We are looking for a customer focussed, reliable, flexible and pro-active individual with experience of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Experience of using CargoWise would be a distinct advantage.


Your daily duties will involve: -
*Supporting the day-to-day operational requirements of Contract Logistics customers, including goods receipts, order processing, picking, packing and dispatch activities across both Basildon based Warehouses.
*Reporting to the Warehouse Manager and liaising with customers verbally and via email.
*Proactively communicating with customers regarding returns, stock requirements and operational issues.
*Wiping, cleaning, preparation and storage of all equipment being returned to the warehouse. Logging returns and putting away once completed
*Providing daily reporting updates to the customer by updating their systems with data and completed tasks in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
*Supporting the operational KPI’s by ensuring orders, receipts and dispatches are completed accurately and within the agreed timescales.
*Completing stock adjustments, stock movements and stock checks accurately using the Warehouse Management System (CargoWise)
*Identifying and escalating operational issues or process delays to management where appropriate.
*Meeting targets with both couriers, the Transport Team and customers.
*Arranging shipments with the Transport Team or approved subcontractors, based on customer requirements.
*Working closely and effectively with the team and management to support warehouse operations, customer orders and driver collections and arrivals.
*Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, health and safety and security within the warehouse environment.


You will need: -
*Excellent customer service / communication skills and strong eye for detail.
*Working knowledge of MS Office applications and warehouse / logistics systems. Experience of CargoWise would be preferred.
*Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced operational environment.
*To be reliable, flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and operational priorities.
*A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
*Ability to organise workload effectively whilst maintaining a tidy and safe workspace.
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Our client is offering a salary of £30,000pa, on-site car parking and a great benefits package.
The working hours are 7.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
