The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business operating within the industrial process, energy and cryogenic technology sectors. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in transforming process designs into practical mechanical solutions for manufacture and delivery to customers worldwide.
This position would suit a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate through to an engineer with a few years of industry experience looking to develop their technical expertise within a highly specialised engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Develop mechanical designs from process engineering specifications.
*Produce 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
*Create 3D models and assemblies using Inventor or SolidWorks.
*Design heat exchangers, piping systems, valves and associated mechanical equipment.
*Generate manufacturing and assembly drawings for production.
*Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
*Assist with structural design of skids, pipework and supporting structures.
*Prepare and update P&IDs and occasional basic electrical drawings.
*Support material selection, equipment sourcing and project costing activities.
*Ensure designs meet quality, inspection and engineering standards.
*Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams on product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We’re interested in speaking with candidates who have:
*A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
*Experience with AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
*Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate engineering documentation.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
*Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable but not essential:
*Knowledge of fluid mechanics.
*Experience of pressure vessel design.
*Understanding of electrical schematics and P&IDs.
*Previous experience within manufacturing, process engineering, energy, LNG, cryogenic or industrial equipment sectors.
