Are you a reliable and proactive individual looking for a short-term opportunity in facilities and caretaking? We are seeking a Facilities Assistant / Caretaker to support the effective operation of community facilities and events at Oxford Town Hall.
The Role
As part of the Facilities team, you will play a key role in ensuring Council buildings are clean, safe, secure, and ready for visitors, staff, and community events.
Key Responsibilities
*Cleaning offices, kitchens, toilets, stairwells, function rooms, and communal areas
*Preparing rooms and equipment for meetings, functions, and events
*Setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment
*Carrying out caretaking duties, including waste disposal
*Locking and unlocking buildings and operating alarm systems
*Assisting with minor maintenance repairs and facilities requests
*Supporting the upkeep of pool cars and bicycles
*Delivering excellent customer service to building users and visitors
About You
*Previous experience in cleaning, caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar role
*Practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
*Good communication and customer service skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Flexible and reliable with a positive attitude
*Basic maintenance skills would be advantageous
