Location: Bury St Edmunds
Salary: £26,500
Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (weekend rota required)
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a friendly and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join a successful and well-established retailer in Bury St Edmunds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, has a passion for creating a positive shopping experience, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
You’ll be helping customers find the right products for their needs, maintaining attractive showroom displays, and supporting the day-to-day running of the store.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
*Welcome customers and provide a warm, professional service.
*Offer product advice and recommendations based on customer requirements.
*Respond to enquiries in person, by phone, and via email.
*Help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Sales & Store Support
*Develop a strong knowledge of the product range and current promotions.
*Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell where appropriate.
*Process sales accurately through the till system.
*Support the team in achieving store sales targets.
Showroom & Merchandising
*Ensure displays are clean, organised, and visually appealing.
*Assist with merchandising and seasonal product displays.
*Replenish stock and maintain high presentation standards.
*Check display products are functioning correctly and safely.
Operations
*Receive and check deliveries.
*Prepare customer orders for collection or delivery.
*Assist with stock control and stock checks.
*Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

*Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role.
*Strong communication and customer service skills.
*Confident, friendly, and approachable manner.
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Basic IT skills.
*A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
