We are looking for an experienced Press & Mould Tool Maker to join our established manufacturing business in East Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and practical toolmaker who takes pride in producing high-quality tooling and enjoys working on varied and technically challenging projects.
You will play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance, repair and modification of press tools, moulds and associated tooling, working to high standards of accuracy and quality.
The RoleYour responsibilities will include:
*Manufacturing, assembling and modifying press tools, moulds and associated tooling.
*Carrying out repairs, maintenance and improvements to existing tooling.
*Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
*Machining, fitting, grinding, milling, turning and drilling components to tight tolerances.
*Setting and operating conventional and CNC machine tools.
*Inspecting components using precision measuring equipment.
*Diagnosing tooling problems and implementing effective solutions.
*Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
*Ensuring tooling is manufactured and maintained to the required quality standards.
*Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised workshop.
About YouWe are looking for an experienced Tool Maker, Press Tool Maker, Mould Tool Maker or similar skilled engineering professional.
You will ideally have:
*Proven experience in a toolmaking or precision engineering environment.
*Strong practical experience with press and/or mould tooling.
*The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*Experience machining and fitting components to close tolerances.
*Good knowledge of conventional machining techniques.
*Experience with CNC machinery would be advantageous.
*Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
*Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
*A professional, reliable and hands-on approach.
*The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Experience with injection mould tooling, press tooling, surface grinding, wire/EDM or CNC machining would be advantageous.
