Job Description:
Full job descriptionFinancial Accounts Assistant
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk (hybrid working available)
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience and qualifications
A practice background is essential for this role.
We are working with a well-established business that is looking to add a Financial Accounts Assistant to its finance team. This is a permanent opportunity for someone who has trained and developed within an accountancy practice and is looking to bring that skill set into a varied, client-focused role.
Because the position covers accounts production across a broad portfolio of clients, previous experience gained in practice is genuinely essential. You will already be comfortable working across different entity types and preparing accounts to a high standard with limited hand-holding.
What you will be doing:
*Accounts production for a range of clients, supported by a qualified accountant
*Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts for various entity types including partnerships, sole traders, limited companies and LLPs
*Calculating accruals and prepayments, profit and loss analysis, gross margin reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations
*Preparing budgets, cashflow forecasts and variance analysis for selected clients
*Bookkeeping duties for a small number of clients, including processing purchase invoices, raising sales invoices, month-end payments, bank reconciliations and VAT returns
*Liaising directly with managers and clients as appropriate
What we are looking for:
*Previous experience within an accountancy practice (essential)
*AAT Level 4 qualified or an ACCA studier
*Confident user of a computerised accounts package
*Strong Excel skills, including Vlookups
*Experience of a paperless office is an advantage
*A full driving licence, as some travel to client sites is required
What is on offer:
*Up to £35,000 depending on experience and qualifications
*Hybrid working
*Company pension
*23 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 25
*Annual bonus scheme
*ACCA study support if required
*Modern office with free onsite parking
If you have built your experience in practice and are ready for a varied, hands-on role, we would like to hear from you. Please apply with an up-to-date CV.
