Technical Team Administrator
Help keep great places moving forward
We’re looking for an organised, curious and proactive Team Administrator to join our client’s busy Technical Surveying team within a leading house building company.
This is a newly developed role, so it’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing order to a busy environment, solving problems and finding better ways of doing things.
You’ll provide essential administrative support to the Technical team, helping information, paperwork and processes move smoothly across the department and wider business.
No two days are likely to be the same. From coordinating meetings and processing invoices to proof-reading documents, managing records and supporting the team with new processes, you’ll become an important part of how the department operates, bringing structure and core processes.
And because this is a new position, you’ll have the opportunity to make the role your own — developing and improving processes as the team grows.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Supporting the departmental meeting minutes, recording actions and helping to ensure follow-ups are captured.
*Raising and processing purchase orders and invoices, obtaining the necessary approvals to support prompt payment.
*Maintaining accurate records, databases and electronic filing systems.
*Collating documents and information and circulating them to colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
*Communicating with external stakeholders in a professional and helpful manner.
*Supporting the Office Manager with additional administration and overflow tasks during busy periods.
*Producing internal sign-off and approval paperwork.
*Proof-reading documents and assisting with the production of schedules and reports.
*Carrying out occasional drawing checks, with appropriate training and guidance.
*Supporting the team with printing, photocopying and other general administrative activities.
*Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes and helping to introduce simple, effective ways of working.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to have worked in a Technical team before. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organised and keen to learn, with the confidence to take ownership of their work.
You’ll bring:
*Excellent attention to detail — accuracy is essential, particularly when handling technical information, records and financial documentation.
*Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and, particularly, Microsoft Excel.
*The ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks while working effectively to deadlines.
*Excellent organisational skills and a structured approach to your work.
*A positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude.
*A natural curiosity and willingness to ask questions, learn and understand how things work.
*A practical, problem-solving mindset — someone who looks for solutions rather than simply identifying problems.
*Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
*The ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
This is more than simply an administrative position. You’ll be joining a technical team where your organisation, communication and attention to detail will have a genuine impact.
As the role is new to the department, you’ll have the opportunity to:
*Help shape and develop administrative processes from the ground up.
*Build knowledge and experience within the house building and technical surveying environment.
*Work alongside an experienced and supportive team.
*Develop your skills and take on additional responsibilities as the department evolves.
*Make a visible contribution to the smooth running of a busy technical function.
You’ll also benefit from a great office location, free parking and a friendly team environment.
We want this to be a workplace where people can do their best work and feel comfortable being themselves. We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
If you’re highly organised, enjoy working with people and information, and are excited by the chance to build something new and make a role your own, we’d love to hear from you.
Please let us know if I need to make reasonable adjustments to our process, please let me know about how I can best support you and make the adjustments that may be needed.
