Reed are delighted to offer the following role with a well-respected regional accountancy firm based in Lancaster
Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Accountant to join their growing team in a client-facing position. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of SME clients whilst providing technical accounting and tax expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing technical work, supporting team development, and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service across a varied client base.
The Role
As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing work completed by junior team members, and delivering expert accounting and taxation advice. You will work closely with management whilst supporting both clients and colleagues across a broad range of accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a range of sectors.
*Conducting client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
*Preparation and completion of statutory annual accounts.
*Reviewing and signing off work completed by junior team members.
*Providing tax planning and advisory support to clients and submission of self-assessment tax returns.
*Managing HMRC enquiries, audits, and investigations.
*Advising clients on income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE matters.
*Monitoring performance and analysing KPI data.
*Supporting the development and mentoring of junior team members.
*Participating in management meetings and contributing to business objectives.
*Maintaining excellent client relationships and delivering exceptional service standards.
About You
*ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
*Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
*Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
*Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
*Advanced understanding of Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE.
*Previous experience managing or supervising a team.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
*Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
