Start Date: 2nd September
Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 2:00pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Cook or catering assistant to join welcoming schools in Ipswich and Bungay. This is initially a temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
As a kitchen assistant you will be supporting the cook with preparing and serving food for the children. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparing and cooking meals in line with school requirements.
*Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
*Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
Requirements
*Previous catering experience as a cook or chef is essential.
*Experience carrying out stock checks and managing kitchen supplies.
*Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
*Strong organisational and leadership skills.
*Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is preferred, but not essential.
