Contract Type: Long-Term Temporary
Salary: £90 - £115 per day
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in New Addington is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils with additional needs, supporting their academic, social and emotional development within a nurturing school environment.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs. The role may involve one-to-one support and small group interventions, helping pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual targets.
This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to continue for the remainder of the academic year.
Responsibilities
*Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
*Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs or SEMH requirements
*Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
*Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
*Implement strategies from EHCPs and support plans
*Encourage positive behaviour and pupil independence
*Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
*Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Requirements
*GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
*Previous experience supporting children with SEND
*A patient, resilient and proactive approach
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
*A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
