Full job descriptionRG Consultancy are working with a fantastic growing SME in Rochdale who are looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper on a full-time basis. You will join a small team and report into the Finance Manager of the company

Role Responsibilities
*Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50
*Process sales and purchase invoices, credit notes, payments and receipts
*Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance sheet accounts
*Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring invoices and payments are processed promptly
*Monitor customer balances and supplier accounts, following up on outstanding items where required
*Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring records are accurate and compliant
*Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
*Maintain accurate nominal ledgers and ensure transactions are correctly coded
*Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals, prepayments and journal entries
*Produce regular management reports, including profit & loss, balance sheet and aged debtor/creditor reports
*Assist with cash-flow monitoring and provide accurate financial information to management
*Maintain organised financial records and ensure all bookkeeping documentation is up to date
*Liaise with external accountants, auditors, suppliers and customers when required
*Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records in a timely manner
*Support the wider business with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
*Ensure bookkeeping processes are efficient, accurate and compliant with relevant regulations
Person Specification
*At least 5 years’ experience working with an all-around accounts or bookkeeper role
*An AAT qualification or studying towards is highly desirable
*Strong IT skills including MS Excel and accounting software, experience with SAGE 50 would be desirable
*Experience working within a wholesale, distribution or retail environment would be an advantage
