Location: Chesterfield (S44)
Contract: Permanent
Pay: £13.33 per hour (+£50 per waking night shift)
Day Residential Support Worker – 1 position available
Waking Night Residential Support Worker – 1 position available
Car driver preferred
No sponsorship available
Shift Pattern: Hours and shift patterns will be discussed directly with management and may vary depending on the needs of the children and home.


About the Role
We are looking for caring, committed and resilient Residential Support Workers to join a children’s residential home in Chesterfield.
You will help provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people who may have experienced trauma, adversity and disrupted attachments.
Working as part of the residential care team, you will build positive relationships with the children, provide consistent day-to-day support and help them achieve positive outcomes.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:
• Providing individualised care and support to children and young people
• Supporting daily routines, meals, activities and personal care where required
• Building positive and trusting relationships with the children
• Supporting individual care plans and agreed goals
• Promoting independence, confidence and life skills
• Supporting education, social and community activities
• Providing emotional support and responding appropriately to challenging situations
• Maintaining a safe, stable and nurturing home environment
• Supporting children with appointments and activities
• Maintaining accurate care, progress and incident records
• Working with colleagues, families and external professionals
• Following safeguarding procedures and ensuring children’s welfare and safety
• Maintaining professional boundaries and providing trauma-informed support


What We’re Looking For:
• Previous care/support experience is desirable, particularly in a children’s residential setting
• A caring, patient and child-centred approach
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Good communication and relationship-building skills
• Reliable, resilient and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Willingness to work flexibly according to the needs of the home
• Car driver preferred
