A pharmaceutical organisation is looking for their next QC Associate Scientist to join its Quality Control team on a 12-month contract. The organisation develops and manufactures products used across clinical, pharmaceutical, environmental, and public health laboratories, supporting customers worldwide with high-quality microbiological solutions.

Your new role
As a QC Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for carrying out microbiological testing to ensure products meet defined quality and performance standards. Working within a laboratory environment, your duties will include media preparation, microbiological testing, recording results within quality management systems, supporting investigations into out-of-specification results, equipment checks, waste management, and maintaining compliance with site quality and safety procedures. You will work closely with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Production, Planning, and Customer Service teams to support business and customer requirements.

What you’ll need to succeed
*Degree level qualification in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
*Laboratory experience within a microbiology, biological sciences, or quality control environment. - Desirable
*Practical microbiology skills such as pipetting, plating, streaking, media preparation, and aseptic techniques.
*Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow SOPs and laboratory methods accurately.
*Good organisational and communication skills.
*Experience using Microsoft Office packages; exposure to SAP or quality management systems would be advantageous.
*A proactive approach and willingness to learn within a fast-paced laboratory environment.
