Location: Predominantly Remote - Oxfordshire
Rate: £22.40 per hour PAYE or £22.48 - Umbrella
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Temporary contract initially for 6 months
DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Allocations Officer to join a busy Housing Services team. This is primarily a remote position, offering the flexibility of home working while supporting the allocation of social housing through a Choice Based Lettings (CBL) system.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring housing is allocated fairly and efficiently, carrying out eligibility and suitability assessments, managing housing applications, and supporting customers in housing need.
Key Responsibilities
*Allocate social housing in accordance with housing legislation, policy, and procedures.
*Manage and process Choice Based Lettings (CBL) shortlists.
*Conduct pre-offer checks and assess applicant suitability.
*Provide advice, guidance, and support to customers regarding housing options.
*Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems.
*Liaise with housing providers, internal departments, and partner agencies.
*Support vulnerable applicants and contribute to positive housing outcomes.
*Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
About You
*Experience in housing allocations, housing needs, homelessness services, or a similar customer-focused environment.
*Knowledge of social housing allocation processes and Choice Based Lettings.
*Understanding of housing legislation, including the Housing Act and homelessness duties.
*Strong organisational and case management skills.
*Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
*Experience using Microsoft Office applications and database or housing management systems.
*The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
