The post holder will work within the Placement and Student Support Team to undertake the allocation of students to placements ensuring that they meet the requirements of the relevant programmes. The post holder is responsible for the administrative management of these placements.
You will support the Non-Medical Education lead in maintaining links with external professional stakeholder organisations and with other departments in the University. Whilst this role will have a specialist focus on Nursing students and Allied Health Professionals, it is also part of a wider placements team context where post holders will be expected to provide support and cover when required.
You will support the activities of the Placement and Student Support team by providing a comprehensive customer focused service, specifically, but not exclusively in relation to placement allocation. To create reports using these electronic processes, extracting and manipulating the data in order to provide detailed reports for the team in relation to student placements across the Trust.
The candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the Trust. They will be able to work autonomously and effectively taking responsibility for their own work.
Main duties of the job*Placement administration: Match, allocate and record information on placements for students on nursing, associate, and degree apprenticeship programmes of study from commencement to completion of training. Request logins for all students and AHP trainee
*Liaise and maintain professional networking relationships as directed by the Non- Medical Education Lead
*Liaise with Team leads and Universities placement office to ensure appropriate allocation of student nurses to Clinical placements are in line with placement capacity and agreed parameters. Actively assist with the sourcing of placement allocations by communicating in writing and by phone with potential placement settings
*Re-arrange placement schedules for students following an interruption or resumption of training. Record and update changes relating to student personal circumstances, informing the relevant internal and external personnel as necessary.
*Maintain database of all student allocation, ensuring the information is correct

*Advise tutors, Team Leads, placement settings and students on placement administrative processes and arrangements.
*Work with the Non-Medical Education lead in periodic reviews of the team performance and contribute to the overall development plan
*Support the Non -Medical Education Lead and the team with implementation of change management about placement requirements within our partnerships
*Attend internal and external Service Provider meetings taking notes/minutes as and when required
*Work with team members to review and develop administrative procedures on an ongoing basis to enable efficient and robust management information systems.
*Work across the Placement teams in supporting wider administrative activities as required.
Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria*Good standard of general education to Diploma Level or equivalent, including English and Maths to GCSE level or equivalent level qualification
*Recognised computing qualification or equivalent experience
ExperienceEssential criteria*Sufficient knowledge of Excel and data presentation
*Establishing and maintaining office systems
