A welcoming and well-established secondary school in Barking & Dagenham is looking for a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker to join their premises team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant or someone with strong practical skills who is looking for flexible shift work within a school environment.
The RoleAs a School Caretaker, you will help ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained. Duties will include:
*Opening and securing the school premises
*Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
*Supporting the smooth running of the school site
*Completing routine health and safety checks
*Assisting with deliveries and contractors
*Maintaining outdoor areas and communal spaces
*Reporting any maintenance or security issues
*Responding to day-to-day site requirements
*Ensuring the school provides a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:
*Reliable, punctual and hardworking
*Practical and confident carrying out basic maintenance
*Able to work independently and as part of a team
*Flexible and willing to work different shifts
*Friendly and professional when dealing with staff, students and visitors
*Experienced in a caretaker, facilities, maintenance or similar role
Previous experience working within a school is desirable but not essential.
