Job Description:
Full job descriptionInterim Group Financial Controller | High-Growth Hardware Technology Business | London / Hybrid
The Client
Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a high-growth technology hardware business that designs and builds its own products and is scaling quickly across multiple entities and markets. Backed by institutional investors and growing fast, the business has outgrown its current finance systems and processes and is now investing in the infrastructure to support the next phase. It is a genuinely interesting time to join, with a live finance transformation at the centre of the plan.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Interim Group Financial Controller will own the group finance function day to day and lead finance systems transformation from the front. This is a hands-on role with a clear project spine: alongside keeping group reporting, consolidation and month-end running cleanly, you will scope, implement and embed a new finance system, redesign the processes and controls around it, and take the team with you through the change. You will manage a small group finance team and work closely with the CFO, operations and external advisers. It suits a controller who enjoys both the technical detail and the build.
Key Responsibilities
*Own the group month-end close, consolidation and management reporting across multiple entities, keeping the numbers accurate and timely.
*Lead the finance systems transformation end to end: scoping, selection or implementation, data migration and go-live.
*Redesign finance processes and controls around the new system, reducing manual work and building rigour that scales.
*Own the group financial control framework and balance sheet integrity, keeping the function audit-ready.
*Manage, support and develop a small group finance team through a period of change.
*Partner with the CFO, operations and external advisers on planning, reporting and the transformation roadmap.
*Support statutory reporting, audit and consolidation across the group.
Essential Experience
*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
*Strong group financial control background: consolidation, multi-entity reporting and month-end ownership.
*Proven experience leading or playing a central role in a finance systems or ERP implementation.
*A hands-on operator, comfortable owning both business as usual and a major change project at once.
*Fast-growth or scale-up background, comfortable with ambiguity and continual change.
*Available immediately or at short notice.
Desirable Experience
*Technology, hardware, manufacturing or other product-led sector experience.
*Experience of NetSuite or a comparable mid-market ERP implementation specifically.
*Exposure to international or multi-entity group structures.
Day Rate: £500-650 per day (candidate rate, dependent on experience)
Location: London, hybrid (2-3 days in office)
Duration: 6 month interim contract, potential to extend or go permanent
Start Date: ASAP
