Haringey | Full-Time or Flexible Weekly Cover | ASAP StartTara Professional Recruitment are currently seeking passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a highly specialist autism school in Haringey, North London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for either full-time long-term work or flexible weekly cover, supporting autistic children and young people within a specialist environment.
The RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and specialist professionals to support pupils with autism and associated learning needs.
The role can involve:
*Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis
*Helping pupils access personalised learning activities
*Supporting communication and interaction
*Encouraging independence and life skills
*Supporting pupils with sensory and emotional needs
*Helping pupils engage positively with learning
*Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
*Assisting with transitions and daily routines
*Taking part in practical, creative and community-based activities
*Working closely with teachers and the wider specialist team
Working HoursThe school operates the following hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8:45am – 4:30pm
Friday: 8:45am – 4:00pm
Full-time SEN Teaching Assistants will be expected to commit to the full Monday-Friday working week.
Flexible candidates can also be considered for weekly cover, depending on the school’s requirements.

*Previous autism/SEND experience is highly desirable
Experience within a specialist autism school, SEND setting, care environment, support work, youth work or similar would be advantageous.
Full-Time or Flexible CoverWe can consider candidates looking for:
Full-Time:
Monday-Friday, working the school’s full hours, on a long-term basis.
Flexible Weekly Cover:
Candidates who want to work selected days each week and build regular experience within specialist SEND education.
This is a particularly good opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, support workers, graduates and those looking to develop their experience within specialist autism education.
Requirements*Experience working with children, young people or individuals with additional needs
*Autism/SEND experience highly desirable
*Patient, reliable and resilient approach

*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred, or Tara Professional Recruitment can assist
