We are recruiting Support Worker to work with our team!
John Masefield House in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is a specialist nursing home supporting adults facing behaviours that challenge complex dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and associated co-morbidities. The service has recently changed management, bringing in a fresh perspective and renewed dedication to excellence in care.
At John Masefield, we understand the complexities of finding suitable placements for individuals with specific needs. We welcome referrals for those who may be challenging to place and assure you that we will carefully review each case and arrange assessments promptly. Our dedicated team gets to know everyone well, quickly learning their preferences so that their needs can be responded to with respect and dignity.
What You’ll be Doing
*Assist residents with personal care and daily living activities.
*Support residents in developing and maintaining their independence.
*Help residents with meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
*Provide emotional support and companionship.
*Maintain accurate records and documentation.
*Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
What You’ll Need
*Minimum of 1+ years’ experience as a support worker
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
*Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
*NVQ2 in Health and Social Care & First aid Trained
