Learning Support Assistant (Female) - HE Student Support
Location: Stockport
Hours: Mondays, 9:30am - 4:00pm
Start Date: Monday 14th September (10:00am - 2:00pm for the first week only)
Contract: Ongoing, term-time
Reed Education is seeking a compassionate and reliable Female Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for an adult learner studying within Higher Education provision.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 support during lectures, tutorials and campus activities.
*Assist the learner in accessing course materials and participating in learning activities.
*Follow healthcare plans, risk assessments and support strategies.
*Respond appropriately to any medical episodes in line with training and college procedures.
Essential Requirements
*Experience supporting individuals with additional needs, disabilities or medical conditions.
*Ability to remain calm and confident in challenging situations.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
*Due to the nature of the support required, this position is open to female applicants only under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1 occupational requirement.
*Experience supporting learners with epilepsy, FND, SEND or mental health needs.
*First Aid, Epilepsy Awareness or similar training.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
