Hays Education is working in partnership with a variety of primary schools, secondary schools, academies and multi-academy trusts across Sheffield. We are currently recruiting reliable and hardworking School Cleaners to support several school sites on both a temporary and ongoing basis. Whether you’re looking for a few hours alongside other commitments or seeking full-time work, we have opportunities available to suit you.
Your new role
As a School Cleaner, you will play an important part in ensuring pupils and staff have a clean, safe and welcoming environment.Duties may include: Cleaning classrooms, corridors and communal areas
Emptying bins and disposing of waste
Cleaning toilets and washroom facilities
Dusting, wiping and sanitising surfaces
Vacuuming, mopping and sweeping floors
Following health and safety and hygiene procedures
Securing areas where required at the end of shifts
What you’ll need to succeed

Previous cleaning experience is essential
A strong work ethic and attention to detail
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability and excellent timekeeping
Good communication skills
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
This job is a temporary position, we will need to be able to obtain references to cover the last 2 years as a minimum, and you will need to be willing to undergo a DBS check if you don’t already have a DBS on the update service.
