About the RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner to join a small and professional Independent Financial Advice firm based in Farringdon.
Working closely with Senior Paraplanners and Financial Advisers, you will provide technical research, analysis and administrative support across a range of existing client cases.
You will receive full training on the firm’s processes and client requirements, while having the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge and progress your career within Financial Planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Analysis*Compile accurate and compliant research packs
*Submit and chase authority letters to obtain client plan information
*Liaise with pension and investment providers to obtain accurate information
*Research pensions, investments and other financial products
*Compile accurate Data Capture Forms
*Prepare client-facing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
*Provide advisers with accurate research and analysis to support client meetings
New Business*Follow the established advice process to produce fully compliant client files
*Process pension and investment new business
*Ensure client documentation is accurate, complete and up to date
*Maintain accurate client information within the CRM system
*Complete and submit applications
*Prepare detailed suitability reports
*Ensure all relevant documentation and processes have been completed satisfactorily
*Liaise with providers throughout the application process
*Support Financial Advisers with the progression of new business cases
Compliance & Administration*Submit adviser files for review by external file reviewers
*Maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance
*Attend shared team meetings and contribute to business improvements
*Keep up to date with industry developments and regulatory requirements
*Maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
*Attend relevant seminars and complete professional examinations
About YouThe successful candidate will have previous experience supporting Independent Financial Advisers and a strong interest in developing their career within Paraplanning and Financial Planning.
You will ideally have:
*Minimum of three R0 exams passed, working towards the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS)
*Previous experience supporting multiple Financial Advisers
*Good technical knowledge of pensions and investments
*Experience writing suitability reports
*Experience completing financial applications and maintaining compliant client files
*Experience using investment platforms
*Experience liaising with pension and investment providers
*Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
*Degree-level education or equivalent
You will also demonstrate:
*Excellent attention to detail
*Strong written communication skills
*Professional and confident telephone manner
*Excellent time management and organisational skills
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
*A systematic and methodical approach
*Strong numeracy skills
*Positive and hardworking attitude
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team
