Commercial Finance AnalystLocation: Liverpool
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Study Support
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join a rapidly growing business based in Liverpool.
This is a broad and highly visible role that will see you partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and drive commercial performance. Working within an ambitious and fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting, profitability analysis and business partnering activities.
This position would suit a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their commercial finance and FP&A experience within a growing organisation.
Key ResponsibilitiesForecasting, Reporting & Analysis*Support the production and maintenance of rolling sales, stock and cashflow forecasts.
*Assist with weekly cashflow reporting and working capital analysis.
*Produce and maintain monthly KPI and management reporting packs.
*Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities.
*Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
*Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting.
Business Partnering*Work closely with budget holders and department managers to monitor financial performance.
*Analyse variances against budget and provide meaningful commentary.
*Support budget-setting and reforecasting processes.
*Act as a key finance contact for operational stakeholders across the business.
*Translate financial information into clear commercial insights.
Commercial Performance Analysis*Monitor sales and margin performance across multiple sales channels.
*Analyse product, customer and channel profitability.
*Identify performance trends, risks and opportunities to drive profitability.
*Support commercial reviews and performance reporting.
*Provide insight into market and competitor activity.
Process Improvement*Continuously improve financial reporting, forecasting tools and processes.
*Utilise Excel and financial systems to improve reporting efficiency and automation.
*Support a variety of commercial and finance-related projects as the business continues to grow.
About YouEssential*Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with ongoing studies toward qualification.
*Previous experience within Commercial Finance, FP&A, Financial Analysis or a similar role.
*Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
*Confident communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
*Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
