Full job descriptionWe are recruiting on behalf of a large, established housing charity with services nationwide, who are launching a new supported housing service in Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Supported Housing Manager / Service Manager to take the lead on a new service, build and develop a team, and have genuine input into how the service is delivered.
Based from an office in Central Manchester, you will manage a team of Housing Support Workers while remaining hands-on with referrals, casework and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities of a Supported Housing Manager:*Manage and lead a team of Housing Support Workers.
*Take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and development of the new Manchester service.
*Help implement new ideas, systems and ways of working.
*Manage referrals, assessments and allocation of residents.
*Remain hands-on with casework and safeguarding, providing support and guidance to the team.
*Act as a key safeguarding lead, responding to concerns and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
*Develop strong relationships with local authorities, partner agencies and other stakeholders.
*Monitor service performance, quality and compliance.
*Provide supervision, support and guidance to staff.
*Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centred housing and support.
*Contribute to the continued development and expansion of the service.
Candidate Requirements:*Previous experience as a Service Manager, Supported Housing Manager or similar senior role.
*Experience managing and developing a team of support workers.
*Strong background in supported housing, homelessness, domestic abuse or safeguarding.
*Significant experience managing safeguarding concerns and complex cases.
*Confident undertaking referrals, assessments and hands-on casework.
*Strong understanding of risk management and safeguarding procedures.
*Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
*Ability to develop new services, implement ideas and improve ways of working.
*Organised, resilient and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
*Experience working with local authorities and other statutory or voluntary sector agencies.
